Faded Sofa Covers
Most of the pictures below have been taken on our own sofa bases so they are not the best photos. The pictures show some badly faded sofa covers before and after dyeing, others show customers attempts at home dyeing jobs and some are just colour changes. We encourage DIY on small items of clothing and we stock the Dylon dyes and offer good advice to go with them. Dyeing large items like faded sofa covers though is always going to be virtually impossible at home. Our machines are large and purpose built for dyeing to achieve wash fastness and light fastness results which cannot be achieved with home dyes and domestic machines. We would like some good pictures taken by you before you remove your loose covers from your sofa and then some pictures showing the great result. Even if your loose covers are not badly faded we would like to show colour changes too.***(photos not taken on original sofa base, hence creased appearance)
Badly faded sofa previously dyed with home dyes. "Just wanted to let you know how very pleased we are with the result. They are much better than I could ever have expected and a complete transformation from the sad old faded covers we sent to you! The colour is perfect and very even. I only wish that we had done this years ago! May I also say how refreshing it is to do business with such a friendly and customer focused team. Many thanks to you all."***(photos not taken on original sofa base, hence creased appearance)
The base was not attempted and showed much fading. The customer tried to dye the cushions and you can see the tie dye results. The brown covers are the same covers after we stripped and dyed the set together, a good result.***(photos not taken on original sofa base, hence creased appearance)
These loose covers show another home fabric dye attempt and the results showing a newly dyed grey sofa. The delighted customer wrote, “ Just to say many thanks for the brilliant service! We are so pleased with what you have done to rectify my disastrous home dyeing attempt! Joy Blissett***(photos not taken on original sofa base, hence creased appearance)
These very tired and faded looking velvet sofa covers looked amazing when they were dyed to a vibrant blue. “ I would like to say thank you for an excellent service. You recently dyed my sofa cover for me. The colour and finish is fantastic and the prompt and thorough service extremely satisfactory". This customer had not only attempted to dye the settee covers but had also put one of the cushions in some diluted bleach, fortunately this hadn’t damaged the fibres and as seen by the results the newly dyed light brown sofa looked lovely when it left us.***(photos not taken on original sofa base, hence creased appearance)
The red sofa looked ready for a face-lift when it arrived and our dyer certainly achieved a great result, the sofa covers looked vibrant and like new.
The above photos were sent in by one of our customers.
Just to let you know that the sofas look fantastic. We are delighted with them. The cushions came up the same colour as the main cover too which was a bonus. Anyhow, as I have already said 'Many Thanks for your help and guidance'. This was a lot more cost effective than buying new sofas with a high quality end result which has attracted lots of positive feedback from family and friends'-Karen Cooper.
So if you have badly faded sofa covers do not despair it may well be possible to give them a new lease of life in the original colour or in a completely new shade. Loose Cover Dyeing Prices Click Here. By all means contact us if you have any questions.
